An advocate who understands what's at stake

My background spans estate planning, family law, and real estate — but the common thread across every role has always been people. Specifically, the privilege of showing up for someone during the hardest chapter of their life.

I know what it feels like to sit across a table from attorneys and advisors while your world is falling apart. I went through my own divorce, and I understand firsthand how easy it is to miss something important when you're overwhelmed, grieving, or simply exhausted from the weight of it all. That experience is what drives this work.

At Empowerment Consulting, I serve as your personal liaison between your legal, financial, and tax teams — attending meetings, asking the right questions, tracking deadlines, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks. I'll be your advocate in every room. I'll also be your steady presence when the process feels like too much.

Blossom Nelson Dutton, Empowerment Consulting
"I believe you deserve someone who will fight for your best interests and sit with you in the hard moments. I am that person."

Guidance for life's most difficult chapters

Whether you're facing divorce, the loss of a loved one, or the complexity of estate navigation, I serve as your single point of contact — coordinating between your attorney, wealth manager, and CPA so you can focus on what matters most.

Divorce Support

Divorce involves attorneys, financial advisors, accountants, and real estate professionals — often all at once. I attend meetings with you, track deadlines, ensure your voice is heard, and make sure you understand every decision being made on your behalf.

Loss of a Loved One

Grief and administration were never meant to happen at the same time. I step in as your advocate — attending meetings with estate attorneys and financial advisors, organizing what needs to be organized, so you can grieve without the weight of it all falling on you alone.

Estate Navigation

Estate administration is one of the most legally and financially complex processes most people will ever face. I coordinate between your legal and financial teams, track timelines and filings, and serve as your steady guide from the first meeting to the final distribution.

Simple steps to feeling supported

01

Reach Out

Send a message or give me a call. There's no commitment — just a conversation. Tell me where you are and what you're facing, and we'll take it from there.

02

We Connect

We meet — in person or by phone — to understand your situation, your team, and what you need most. I'll explain exactly how I can help and answer every question.

03

I'm With You

From the first meeting to the final signature, I'm by your side. I attend, I advocate, I take notes, and I make sure you never walk into a room unprepared or alone.

"I'll be your advocate in every room — and your steady presence when the process feels like too much."

What you might be wondering

An attorney's job is to give you legal advice and represent you in legal proceedings. My job is to make sure you actually understand what's happening, that nothing gets missed between your legal, financial, and tax teams, and that you have someone in your corner who isn't billing by the hour for every question you ask. I attend meetings with you, take notes, explain things in plain language afterward, and track every deadline and task. Think of me as your informed advocate and coordinator — the person who makes sure the whole process stays on track and that you never feel alone in it.

Every situation is different, so I don't publish a fixed rate — the scope of support you need during a divorce looks very different from what you might need navigating an estate. What I can tell you is that the free consultation is exactly that: free, with no pressure and no obligation. We'll talk through where you are, what you need, and I'll be straightforward about what working together would look like and cost. Reach out and let's start there.

I'm based in Birmingham, Alabama, and work primarily with clients in the Birmingham area. That said, many of the coordination and advocacy services I provide can be done remotely — by phone, video, and email. If you're outside the area, reach out and let's talk about what your situation calls for. I'll be honest about whether I can genuinely help you from a distance.

It starts with a free conversation — no paperwork, no commitment. You tell me where you are and what feels most overwhelming. From there, if we decide to work together, I become a consistent presence through the process: I attend meetings with your attorneys, financial advisors, and tax professionals; I make sure you understand what's being discussed and decided; I track deadlines and follow up on action items; and I'm available when questions come up between meetings. Some clients need me for a defined period; others bring me in for specific moments. We figure out what fits your situation.

Absolutely. Everything you share with me — in our consultation, in our work together, in any message or call — is held in strict confidence. I understand that the things you're navigating are among the most personal moments of your life, and I treat them accordingly.

Ready to take the first step?

You don't need to have everything figured out before reaching out. A single conversation is often all it takes to feel less alone in the process. I'd be honored to walk alongside you.
